Event Management / Leadership

  • Organized Indianapolis New In Town Meetup Group, creating events and activities for members to attend, with the largest event being a bespoke scavenger hunt attracting over 40 people.  Created scavenger hunt, including outlining parameters, canvassing for prize donations, and devising liability waivers.
  • Guided Indy Pub Knitters activities, orchestrating events and locations on a bimonthly basis
  • Backed up coordinator of ticket-taking volunteers at Butler Basketball games; responsibilities included filling in for the coordinator as needed in assigning positions, reducing bottlenecks, and ensuring a seamless process for fans
  • Shadowed board member for Cancer Support Community, a non-profit organization.  Completed project involving training outreach coordinators in selling skills to expand their impact.
  • Created a franchise in Jacksonville, FL, of a social group called Girls Pint Out, which originated in Indianapolis..  Activities included planning events and finding members. (Unfortunately, this was in late 2019, and there was not enough momentum to survive the pandemic.)


Outreach

  • Volunteered at a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, attending events with the primary purpose of raising awareness of the services and a secondary purpose of getting animals adopted.  Typically assigned roles involving active engagement with the public or missions to find homes for the "less desirable" animals, typically adult cats.
